Distance: 8 miles
Notes:

On the 19th of May, at 7 PM local time in Philadelphia as well as at hundreds locations around the world, cyclists will take to the roads in a silent protest of the carnage taking place on the streets.

Six people have died on their bicycles on the roads of the Delaware Valley since the Ride of Silence took place at this time last year. None of these deaths had to happen. During the Ride of Silence, we will ride together to honor their memory and to call attention to the unsafe streets all of us travel on every day

The Ride of Silence will have a brief ceremony starting at 6:45 PM at the base of the Philadelphia Art Museum’s steps before starting our 5th annual ride. The ride route will proceed down the Parkway, circle City Hall, continue to Independence Hall, and head over to West Philly via Spruce Street and the Walnut St. Bridge. The ride will return to the front of the Art Museum over the Market Street Bridge. The ride will be escorted by the Philadelphia Police Department who will provide rolling street closures for the ride participants.
